The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for premier global provider of heavy mechanical power transmission solutions to identify an ambitious MRO Design Engineer for their central service facility in Houston, Texas. Operating in a high-impact, fully on-site capacity, this role serves as the primary technical authority for the evaluation, overhaul, and modification of high-spec industrial rotating machinery. 

What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate inbound heavy industrial equipment to diagnose mechanical integrity, establish root-cause failure analyses, and author detailed technical condition assessments.

  • Engineer targeted scope-of-work plans, dimensional measurements, and reverse-engineering models to restore complex mechanical assets to peak functionality.

  • Architect comprehensive 3D models, structural assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using advanced design suites.

  • Formulate precise gear manufacturing calculations, component repair specs, and step-by-step operational travelers for machining and assembly teams.

  • Direct hands-on shop floor technical execution, troubleshooting emergent mechanical constraints during machining, inspection, and rebuild operations.

  • Synthesize technical communications between regional service leadership, corporate engineering units, external vendors, and client contacts throughout the project lifecycle.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Base Salary: $100,000 – $125,000 annually (Direct Hire)

  • Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP): 10% annual bonus target

  • Retirement: 6% 401k match

  • Benefits: Full benefits package included
