Location: San Leandro, California (Onsite)
Role Overview
The Co-Manufacturing Quality Assurance Technician role is to ensure that co-manufactured products adhere to the food safety and quality plans. This position ensures compliance with regulatory and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, specifically SQF standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and execute Positive Release for co-manufactured products received.
- Conduct product sampling of co-manufactured products as needed, following established sampling plans.
- Conduct and lead monthly housekeeping, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation, and safety inspections, and report any non-compliance findings.
- Verify and/or audit the Critical Control Points (CCP) and preventive controls conducted by co-manufacturing partners.
- Conduct daily sensory analysis and quality control checks of finished products for positive release.
- Execute positive release in Oracle and WMS software as needed.
- Provide support to manufacturing on the hold and release process, ensuring Quality Incident reports are created, updated, and communicated.
- Maintain the product status tracker file, hold tracking file, and co-man shared attainment and release tracker files.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System.
- Provide support to the manufacturing team in training team members on food safety and quality procedures.
- Collect and maintain product quality data and communicate any issues to internal and external teams.
- Coordinate the investigation of customer complaints, including retrieving samples, documentation, and performing traceability and sensory analysis.
- Follow up on corrective actions and projects related to co-manufactured products.
- Maintain lab supplies and ensure the lab is kept clean and organized.
