Oracle Technical Lead- Only for Locals to California

Job Role: Oracle Technical Lead
Location: Sacramento, CA (Remote – must be based in Northern California)
Duration: Contract (Immediate start – Backfill role)

This role supports a California state agency and focuses on leading, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical Oracle Forms/Reports applications running on Unix (Solaris) platforms. The position emphasizes technical leadership, enterprise Oracle development, production support, and system stability, working closely with stakeholders, architects, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

(Including but not limited to)

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of Oracle Forms/Reports 12c applications and Oracle 12c databases.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, including task planning, code reviews, mentoring developers, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Design, create, modify, and optimize Oracle database objects, including complex SQL and PL/SQL procedures, packages, and functions.
• Develop and deploy Oracle Forms/Reports code to Unix (Solaris) environments using secure terminal and file transfer tools such as PuTTY and FileZilla.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database, application, and performance issues using TOAD and other Oracle diagnostic utilities.
• Configure and support Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer and develop Jaspersoft reports to meet enterprise reporting requirements.
• Write and maintain SQL scripts and Unix shell scripts to support application functionality, batch processing, and system operations.
• Author and maintain technical documentation, including system design documents, deployment procedures, and run books.
• Manage source code using Apache Subversion (SVN), ensuring version control and release management best practices.
• Support both production and non-production environments and participate in deployment, release, and support activities.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting solutions using Oracle Forms/Reports 12c, Oracle Forms Builder, and Oracle 12c Database.
• Expert-level experience in SQL and PL/SQL, including database object creation and performance tuning.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical lead role, providing oversight and mentoring.
• 4+ years of experience authoring technical documentation (design docs, deployment guides, run books).
• 2+ years of experience using Apache Subversion (SVN) for source code management.
• 4+ years of experience deploying Forms/Reports applications on Unix (Solaris) platforms.
• Strong experience using TOAD for Oracle or equivalent tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• 2+ years of experience configuring and supporting Oracle BI Discoverer.
• 2+ years of experience developing Jaspersoft reports.
• Proven experience writing SQL and Unix shell scripts in enterprise environments.
