Job Description

The ServiceNow ITOM / AIOps Engineer will support the design, implementation, and operation of IT Operations Management (ITOM), AIOps, and observability solutions in a hybrid enterprise environment. This role will work closely with the ServiceNow Tools Architect to implement integrations, automation, and monitoring solutions using ServiceNow ITOM, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, AlertSite, and related platforms.

The engineer will focus on event management, CMDB maintenance, service mapping, automation execution, and operational tuning, helping improve service reliability, visibility, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

ITOM & Observability Implementation

• Configure and support ServiceNow ITOM modules, including:

  • Discovery

  • Service Mapping

  • Event Management

  • Orchestration

• Implement and maintain integrations with Dynatrace, SolarWinds, AlertSite, and other monitoring tools.

• Support event ingestion, correlation, and noise reduction within ServiceNow.

• Assist with AIOps use cases, including anomaly detection and root cause analysis.

CMDB & Service Mapping

• Maintain and enhance the ServiceNow CMDB in alignment with CSDM best practices.

• Support CI and service mapping, ensuring accurate relationships and dependency models.

• Perform CMDB health activities, including:

  • Data completeness

  • CI staleness remediation

  • Orphaned CI cleanup

• Assist with impact analysis and change risk assessment.

Automation & Scripting

• Develop and maintain automation workflows, scripts, and runbooks using ServiceNow and related tools.

• Execute automation use cases for incident remediation, event response, and operational tasks.

• Assist in identifying opportunities for operational automation and continuous improvement.

Data, Monitoring & Performance

• Support data ingestion, normalization, and correlation from logs, metrics, and events.

• Tune event thresholds and alerting rules in collaboration with stakeholders.

• Monitor platform performance and support operational reporting and dashboards.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with the Tools Architect, ITSM teams, and operations teams to implement solutions.

• Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation, and operational handover activities.

• Provide L2/L3 support for ITOM and observability tools as required.

Skills & Qualifications

• 4 7 years of experience in ServiceNow ITOM or observability engineering.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management

  • CMDB and CSDM

• Experience integrating or operating tools such as Dynatrace, SolarWinds, AlertSite, or similar platforms.

• Basic to intermediate scripting experience (JavaScript, PowerShell, Python preferred).

• Working knowledge of ITIL / ITSM processes.

• ServiceNow ITOM or related certifications preferred.
