Industrial Mechanical Engineer - HVAC / Hydronic Systems


Location: Houston, TX 77042 | Pay: $60/hour

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanical Engineer to support EPC and industrial facility projects in Houston, TX. This contract role is focused on chilled water systems, HVAC plant design, and large-scale mechanical infrastructure for industrial and mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities


  • Design and support chilled water plant systems including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, piping, valves, expansion tanks, and hydronic components

  • Develop and review engineering deliverables including GA drawings, P&IDs, PRV calculations, nozzle load analysis, and anchorage details

  • Support fabrication and commissioning through development of FAT procedures and technical documentation

  • Provide technical guidance to vendors, project managers, and field teams throughout project execution

  • Oversee third-party engineering deliverables and ensure quality and compliance with project requirements

  • Support troubleshooting, field coordination, and construction-related technical issues

  • Apply ASME, API, and applicable industry standards to mechanical system design

  • Utilize engineering and collaboration tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering or construction experience in industrial or EPC environments

  • Strong expertise in refrigeration, HVAC, and hydronic system design

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit required

  • Experience with ASME and API standards

  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment

  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation required
