The D365 CE Product Owner / Business Analyst (PO/BA) supports the DC Scrum Team by translating business needs into clear, actionable work for Dynamics 365 Sales (Customer Engagement). The role combines business analysis (process and data analysis, requirements definition, and solution documentation) with day-to-day product ownership (backlog refinement, story clarity, and acceptance criteria) to help the team deliver value each sprint.
This role is aligned to, and takes prioritization direction from, an assigned Product Manager to ensure scope and backlog priorities match the product roadmap and business outcomes. The PO/BA escalates cross-functional tradeoffs and scope decisions to the Product Manager as needed, while keeping stakeholders informed and the Scrum Team unblocked through clear requirements and timely decisions..
Essential Functions
* Product Ownership, Backlog & Agile Delivery
o Maintain a well-groomed team backlog: refine items, clarify scope, and ensure stories are ready for sprint planning with clear acceptance criteria.
o Partner with the Product Manager to align priorities to roadmap/outcomes; recommend sequencing and escalate priority conflicts or scope changes for decision.
o Support sprint execution by answering questions quickly, managing dependencies/risks, and coordinating stakeholder feedback from sprint reviews/demos.
* Business Analysis & Solution Definition
o Elicit and document business and system requirements; translate needs into user stories and supporting functional specifications.
o Assess and communicate design and process impacts of new requirements; document current and future-state workflows, process maps, and data needs.
o Serve as liaison between business users and the technical team to ensure shared understanding, alignment, and issue resolution.
* Testing, Adoption & Operational Support
o Lead UAT planning and execution; develop acceptance test cases with business owners and coordinate defect triage and validation.
o Collaborate with SMEs and training partners to create job aids, guides, and other enablement materials; support go-live readiness and adoption.
o Provide production support and triage incoming issues; assess impact, prioritize work into the backlog, and coordinate communication to users.
Required Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
* 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Product Owner in Agile delivery environments.
* 3+ years experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales (Customer Engagement).
* Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria and producing analysis artifacts (process maps, user journeys, workflow diagrams).
* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and root-cause problem-solving skills.
* Experience supporting testing/UAT and developing or facilitating training for end users.
Preferred Experience
* Background working with CE in an integrated environment where data is received from, and sent to, Dynamics 365 F&O.
* Experience working within the SAFe framework; SAFe PO/PM certification a plus.
* Experience with Microsoft DevOps (Azure DevOps) for backlog management and delivery traceability.
* Experience using AI tools to enhance business capabilities and team efficiency.
* Domain expertise with sales, marketing, business operations, finance and/or accounting; change management and analytics exposure.
