Job Summary
Defined Software Development is seeking an IT Technician for contract consulting opportunities supporting a Florida state government client in Boca Raton.
The IT Technician will provide onsite and remote technical support for enterprise hardware, software, systems, and end-user technology. Responsibilities may include installation and configuration, troubleshooting, system maintenance, asset tracking, documentation, and support for a variety of IT resources.
This is a general IT technician role suited for someone with a strong technical foundation, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, systems, mobile devices, printers, and scanners.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to end users.
- Diagnose hardware, software, and network-related issues and determine appropriate resolution, repair, or replacement.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems using tools such as Active Directory and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
- Support Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Assist with audiovisual equipment, video conferencing, and virtual meeting technologies.
- Maintain accurate asset records and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with other IT teams on projects, initiatives, and technical support activities.
- Recommend improvements to IT processes, practices, devices, and software.
- Provide professional customer service and clear technical communication.
- Travel to remote locations to provide technical support as needed.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant education, certifications, or technical training are a plus.
- 0–1 year of IT support or technician experience; enterprise IT experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
