Looking for an Architect with business analysis and project management skills to assess functionality of ~20 custom applications and research options for replacing each.

Job Description:

The City of Columbus Department of Technology is seeking a part-time experienced architect with project managment and business analysis skills to assess functionality of ~20 custom applications and research options for replacing each.

Applications are primarily in C# with SQL backend.

This role requires working directly with business users and subject matter experts and requires excellent verbal and written communications skills.

The Architect will often meet with city employees in person and/or via video conferencing between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm.

Otherwise, work may be done independently with flexible schedule.

This role requires excellent workshop facilitation, communications and documentation skills.

Also, this role will direct the work of a business analyst. 

Required Skills:

• 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
• Analyze, determine, and document functional requirements.
• Provide definition on how the applications will support business requirements.
• Provide detailed definition on how the applications will support business requirements.
• Coordinate the design and development of work estimates and act as the primary point of contact. Assist in managing and directing application team pro
• Organize and prepare work effectively to facilitate proactive resolution of problems.
• Work with client to identify direction of software.
• Ensure business requirements are supported by the software.
• Understand specific business needs and overall business strategy of the business customer.
• Ensure that overall application designs remain within project scope.
• Provide standard, well-structured work planning which defines scope, resources, commitments, quality, risk, tasks, and acceptance criteria.
• Guide processes for business analysts and direct work planning and design activities.
• Work with customer business units to understand their business processes.
• Work with customer business units and client to identify direction of software. Ensure business requirements are supported by the software.
• Ensure goals for Functional Architects are being met and manage team commitments.
