Summary

Responsibilities

Sentinel is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support our client in Schaumburg, IL. This is a six-month onsite contract opportunity for a hands-on networking professional with strong Fortinet expertise and a background in network security, design, and infrastructure administration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across the Fortinet ecosystem, including firewalls, switches, analyzers, and security platforms, as well as expertise in cybersecurity remediation and troubleshooting complex network environments. This is an onsite position at the Schaumburg, Illinois office.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Fortinet networking and security products.
  • Strong experience with FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiAnalyzer, and related Fortinet technologies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing cybersecurity advisories, vulnerabilities, and remediation activities.
  • Advanced understanding of networking protocols, routing, switching, wireless technologies, and network security best practices.
  • Experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, incident response, and business continuity planning.
  • Previous experience working within local government, municipal, or public sector environments would be preferred.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Occasional after-hours support will be required for maintenance windows, upgrades, and emergency issues.
  • The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
  • A valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a "can-do" attitude

Compensation:

$48/hr - $58/hr
