API Developer (Python)

We are looking for a skilled API Developer with strong Python scripting experience, preferably located near Wilmington, DE.

Location: Wilmington, DE (Hybrid – minimum 2 days onsite per week)

Job Description

• Hands-on experience working with credit decisioning application APIs.

• Strong experience in designing and developing APIs using REST, GraphQL, and SOAP.

• Experience with API management platforms.

• Solid backend development skills using Python (primary), with exposure to Java, JavaScript (Node.js), or Ruby.

• Proficiency with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server, including strong SQL query writing skills.

• Experience with API testing tools like Postman and version control systems such as Git.

• Design and develop robust, secure, and scalable API endpoints and services.

• Ensure APIs meet both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Integrate internal systems with third-party services to enable smooth data flow.

• Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation, including endpoints and data structures.

• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, API keys, etc.).

• Monitor and troubleshoot API performance and reliability.

• Collaborate closely with frontend and backend teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration.
