Summary

Overview

We are seeking a Tier 1 Desktop Support Technician to provide frontline technical support for end users in a Windows-based environment. This role will focus on basic troubleshooting, device setup, and leveraging SCCM for endpoint management and deployments. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within IT support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals in a Windows environment
  • Troubleshoot Windows OS issues including login errors, application issues, and system performance
  • Utilize SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for software deployments, imaging, patching, and basic endpoint management
  • Install, configure, and deploy new hardware and standard software packages
  • Handle user account support tasks such as password resets, account unlocks, and basic permissions
  • Support Office 365 and other standard enterprise applications
  • Log, track, and update tickets in the IT service management system
  • Deliver support via phone, remote tools, and in-person interactions
  • Escalate complex issues to Tier 2/3 support teams as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of processes and solutions

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of desktop support or IT help desk experience
  • Basic hands-on experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments
  • Exposure to SCCM for imaging, deployments, or patch management preferred
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Office 365 is a plus
  • Experience with an IT ticketing system (ServiceNow or similar) preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues efficiently
  • Willingness to learn and grow within endpoint management tools like SCCM
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset

Preferred

  • Associate's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Entry-level certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft fundamentals)
  • Exposure to enterprise environments and standardized deployment processes

This is a Contract position based out of Dayton, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
