Scope of the role will be to lead the teams that:\n- Provide Technical leadership for manufacturing operations at multiple vendors and sites across tight timelines.\n - Drive contract manufacturer preparation for pre-production builds.\n - Drive Production process development, documentation, optimization and validation.\n - Develops and implements new technologies to improve production quality, capacity and efficiency.\n - Sets standard practices and independently settles impact to design approaches\nand parameters to the final product.\n\nProvides direction, mentorship and resources to other engineering groups and project leaders as well as factory technicians. Act as lead engineer on a variety of projects and participates in the project planning of major sub-projects. Performs assignments in several of the following manufacturing engineering functions:\n - Design for Manufacturability. \n - Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure manufacturability of new products.\n - Product Engineering.\n - Works all phases of a product from concept to repeat manufacturing to end of life. Provides production support engineering with respect to technically complex testing methods, procedures and failure analysis. \n - Process Engineering. \n - Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency. \n - Failure/Data Analysis.\n - Plans, develops and implements technically complex procedures for the testing and evaluation of soon to be released products. Specifies test to be performed, compiles data and makes recommendations for product design changes and final assembly standards. This will include the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis using Six Sigma principles.\n- Provide regular VP level communication of technical health of program.
10+ years of experience in engineering and manufacturing operations with 3 to 5\nyears of people management experience\nRelevant experience leading teams while introducing products into manufacturing\nand high volume production\nHands-on in the factory processes, with frequent time spent on the factory floor\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to concisely understand and communicate issues, and lead the team to a solution\nExcellent interpersonal skills required, including frequent presentations to executive leadership presenting top issues, solutions, recommendations + path to closure\nAbility to travel internationally 25%-35%\nBachelor's degree in engineering discipline
Proven technical skills, including experience and thorough understanding of wafer level, component, PCBA, module assembly, test, pack-out processes, and process integration\nWorking knowledge of injection molding, stamping, plating, micro-machining, thin film coatings is a plus\nExperience in product design a plus\nHighly motivated and able to drive issues to closure\nIn-depth knowledge in quality methodologies with common tools, including process capability statistical analysis\nAnalysis, DOE, FMEA, SPC, Failure Analysis, Data Analysis, etc\nUnderstand and tolerance stack ups for assemblies and part level\nExcellent problem solver, using structured problem-solving methodology to assign root cause, plus develop and implement corrective and preventative actions\nWorks on significant and unique issues where analysis of situation or data requires an evaluation of intangibles\nExercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results\nCreates formal networks involving coordination among groups\nStrong communicator who can translate high-level goals into tangible action plans\nExcellent program management skills, experience working in a matrix environment\nProven record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design required \nExcellent project/program management skills (planning, cost, delivery, risk analysis).\nDirect experience leading any of the following functional engineering teams a plus: ME, EE, TE, Technical Operations, etc\nExperience working with international OEM partners\nJMP, Tableau, & Six Sigma experience a plus\nMaster's degree or MBA is a plus
