What You'll Do Are you a strategic project leader who thrives at the intersection of planning, execution, and impact? As
Director, Portfolio and Project Management, you will lead all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery across the IT Business Operations & Delivery department. In this role, you'll shape how IT initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and delivered-ensuring portfolios align with business priorities and delivery standards are applied consistently. Working closely with cross-functional technology teams and stakeholders, you'll drive disciplined portfolio management, enable benefits realization, and elevate project delivery maturity across the organization.
- Portfolio Leadership: Oversee multiple IT project portfolios, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and overall IT strategy.
- Intake & Prioritization: Lead and continuously improve processes for project intake, prioritization, and benefits realization to support informed decision-making.
- Delivery Excellence: Establish and enforce project and program management standards, ensuring accountability for scope, timeline, budget, risks, and issues.
- Resource Optimization: Direct resource and capacity planning across IT to balance demand, maximize efficiency, and support successful delivery outcomes.
- Performance Measurement: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) to monitor project health and drive continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate clear, structured communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment, readiness, and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Infrastructure, End User Services, Business Solutions, Practice Solutions, and Technology Enablement teams to manage dependencies and enable integrated delivery.
- Executive Reporting: Provide regular, concise updates to leadership on portfolio status, risks, and delivery outcomes.
What You'll Bring- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT or technology project management, including portfolio management and delivery in complex environments.
- Portfolio Expertise: Proven capability in project intake, prioritization, resource and capacity planning, and benefits realization.
- Methodologies: Hands-on experience with project and program management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps.
- Leadership Skills: Strong people leadership and team development capabilities, with the ability to guide and influence across functions.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information to diverse audiences.
- Collaboration: Demonstrated success managing stakeholders and driving outcomes through cross-functional partnerships.
