Project overview
Client is seeking to procure specialized technical services for its Brokerage Technology Corporate Actions & Tax Team. The sourcing event aims to engage two experienced Principal Full Stack Engineers and one Principal Systems Analysts to lead the design, development, and modernization of scalable, high-availability brokerage systems. The professionals will support legacy system modernization, cloud application development, and integration of complex data platforms to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. One Engineer will need to be located in Merrimack NH and the other Engineer and the Systems Analyst should be located in Jersey City New Jersey.
Technical requirements
Principal Full Stack Engineers should be proficient in Java, Spring Framework, and Kafka. They should also be experienced with CI/CD practices using Jenkins, designing microservices, and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes. Familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS, is also important.
Job Description:
- The Brokerage Technology Trades Processing & Settlements Team in Client Wealth Technology, is looking for a Principal Full Stack Engineer to collaborate and deliver the top quality scalable systems solutions.
- You will serve as a Technical Lead working closely with the Tech Lead, Product Owners, and Architects to define and implement technical strategies and design solutions.
- You will be responsible for designing and building high-quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and standard development processes.
- This includes collaborating closely with architects to solve complex business challenges and contributing significantly to design strategies and development efforts to ensure quality outcomes.
- Leveraging your business knowledge, you will translate divisional initiatives into effective software solutions by developing sophisticated or multi-component applications and evaluating alternative approaches. Additionally, you will analyze and recommend improvements to development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies, providing valuable insights to both technical experts and management
The Purpose
- The Principal Software Engineer in Client Brokerage technology is responsible for design and development of highly available, scalable and distributed data platforms to process high volume, high velocity and wide variety of structured data.
- The Principal Software Engineer will also be a technical lead for the team and have responsibility for solution design, solving key technical challenges and mentoring the team.

- Stay on top of Algorithms, Data Structures and Design Patterns and love the challenge of building highly scalable systems that can support thousands of transactions/sec
- Have a mindset of test first development and are experienced in modern test frameworks

- Have strong communication skills and technical expertise in driving and participating in discussions
The Skills You Bring
- Batchelor's degree in computer science or related field required
- 10+ years strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Kafka development environment; Use (CI/CD) Jenkins pipeline
- Experience leading a team
- Proficient in designing micro services by applying software design patterns, twelve-factor app methodology, and SOLID principles
- Experience container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
- Experience with asynchronous workers and resilient messaging services such as Kafka, SNS and SQS
- Experience with Brokerage systems, especially Trade processing and Settlements.
- Proficient in databases and SQL
- Unit and integration test automation using Jest, Cucumber, Junit and Mockito
- Ability to build reliable software that can withstand unreliable environments
- Possess critical thinking skills to build end-to-end solutions
- Passionate and committed to learning new things and developing with the latest technologies and frameworks
- Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time
- Participate in engineering practices such as code and design reviews, environment strategy, and build and deployment pipelines
- Strong organization skills and attention to details
