Platform Engineer (Denodo & Cloud Infrastructure)

A leading energy company in Houston is looking for a Platform Engineer to play a central role in the reliability, security, and scalability of a modern platform ecosystem. In this role, you will collaborate daily with development, security, and operations teams to drive DevSecOps practices, automate infrastructure, and support a suite of enterprise analytics tools that power critical business intelligence across the organization. You will bring hands-on engineering discipline to CI/CD pipelines, containerized workloads, and cloud-native infrastructure while serving as a key contributor to platform standards and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using modern DevSecOps practices — including Git-based workflows, artifact management, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, and integrated security controls.

• Deploy, configure, and administer enterprise analytics platforms including Denodo, Tableau, and MicroStrategy, managing upgrades, environment maintenance, and configuration across the analytics stack.

• Build automation solutions using scripting languages or AI-assisted tooling to reduce manual toil, improve platform reliability, and increase operational efficiency at scale.

• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues spanning compute, storage, networking, load balancers, firewalls, and security groups — analyzing logs and metrics to diagnose root causes and implement durable fixes.

• Document platform best practices and operational standards, and actively contribute to incident response and problem resolution efforts alongside cross-functional engineering teams.

• Support containerized workloads running on Docker and Kubernetes, contributing to the health and scalability of cloud-native platform services.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or system administration in a production environment.

• Hands-on experience supporting or administering at least one enterprise analytics tool such as Denodo, Tableau, or MicroStrategy — including deployments, upgrades, and environment configuration.

• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tooling, particularly Terraform, and familiarity with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance.

• Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes in a cloud-native or hybrid environment.

• Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts clearly for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Experience with infrastructure troubleshooting across networking, storage, and compute layers, including log analysis and metrics-driven root cause investigation.
