Summary
Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer, is seeking a technical architect and consultant to deliver automation and digital transformation solutions in a highly regulated environment. You will lead a team of 15+ onsite and offshore engineers and serve as the primary customer point of contact for automation and controls projects.
Role: Technical Architect (Automation and Digital Transformation)
Location: Jacksonville, FL (onsite)
Rate: Open, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shopfloor-to-MES integration using ISA-95 aligned platforms and structured data modeling
- Lead retrofit and legacy migration initiatives, moving outdated control platforms and SCADA systems to modern, scalable architectures
- Support Ignition SCADA solutions for real-time KPI tracking (throughput, yield, equipment utilization, downtime)
- Architect MQTT-based data frameworks for real-time communication between PLCs and enterprise systems
- Drive IT/OT convergence using tiered architecture for predictive analytics, centralized monitoring, and remote diagnostics
- Build data pipelines for high-frequency time-series data using Canary and AVEVA historians
- Ensure 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, including electronic records, audit trails, and access controls
- Lead OT cybersecurity initiatives such as DCOM hardening, and secure communications using AVEVA SiteLink and OPC UA
- Manage validation and compliance workflows, including NC/CAPA support and audit readiness
