Title: Java AWS Architect
Location: Irving, TX (onsite)
Duration: Long Term
Note: Client prefers candidates with AWS certifications
Required Skills:
· Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices
· Deep AWS architecture and implementation expertise, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora, ECS/EKS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch
· Terraform and/or CloudFormation (Infrastructure as Code)
· Strong database experience with Aurora, RDS, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch
· Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and distributed systems
· Cloud-native, event-driven architecture design and implementation
· Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor AI
· AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred
Responsibilities:
· Act as a hands-on Architect/Principal Engineer building secure, scalable, cloud-native platform services.
· Lead architecture design, modernization, cloud migration, technical decisions, and performance optimization.
· Drive best practices for design patterns, software engineering, database design, data modeling, query optimization, and high-availability architectures.
· Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership.
· Collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, data-intensive applications.
Ideal Candidate:
· Recent hands-on Java/Spring Boot development experience.
· Strong AWS architecture background beyond basic service usage.
· Expertise across relational and NoSQL databases.
· Self-driven, ownership-oriented engineer with a principal-engineering mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
· Proven experience designing secure, scalable, event-driven solutions and leading technical initiatives.
