Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Architect with approximately 7 years of experience to design, implement, and support enterprise-scale mainframe solutions. The ideal candidate will contribute to architectural strategy, ensure alignment with business objectives, and support modernization initiatives within the mainframe ecosystem.

 

Key Responsibilities

(No change to core responsibilities — keeping concise)

• Design and maintain mainframe architecture roadmap

• Develop scalable, secure, high-performance solutions

• Ensure compliance with architecture standards and governance

• Support modernization initiatives and new solution design

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

 

Experience

• 7+ years in Mainframe technologies and architecture

 

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:

    • z/OS, COBOL, JCL

    • CICS, DB2, IMS, VSAM

    • Batch processing and schedulers (Control-M, CA-7)

 

Tools & Platforms

• Mainframe tools:

    • IBM mainframe ecosystem tools

    • SDSF, JCL utilities, scheduling tools

• ITOM (IT Operations Management tools) – experience in:

    • Managing report outputs and spool processing workflows

    • Supporting mainframe report distribution and archival processes

    • Working with ITOM-based integrations and operational workflows across environments

• Exposure to ServiceNow ITOM / monitoring / CMDB integrations (preferred based on internal roadmap usage)

 

Additional Skills

• Performance tuning, capacity planning

• Disaster recovery & high availability

• Mainframe modernization (APIs, cloud integration)

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ITOM migration / implementation programs

• Exposure to tool conversions (e.g., SAR → ITOM)

• Experience with enterprise-scale report and output management systems
