Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Technical Lead / Technical Project Manager with strong technical leadership, application support, operations, and team management experience.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting Guidewire Cloud applications, with strong hands-on programming knowledge in Gosu, Java, and SQL. This role requires a combination of technical leadership, strategic planning, application operations, vendor management, and hands-on execution.

Candidates with insurance industry experience and Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter expertise are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for business-critical applications built on the Guidewire Cloud platform.
• Ensure application availability, reliability, stability, and performance.
• Lead Guidewire upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and technical initiatives.
• Manage internal and external application support teams.
• Manage technology vendors, service providers, implementation partners, and offshore/onshore resources.
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to service-level agreements.
• Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with business requirements.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to support security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a technical advisor to business stakeholders.
• Lead technology risk assessments, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement and digital enablement initiatives.
• Balance strategic technology planning with hands-on technical execution.
• Provide technical guidance during application development, integration, and production support.
• Manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant IT experience, including significant application support and/or operations experience.
• Extensive and recent experience as a Technical Lead and Manager.
• Strong technical depth combined with strategic-thinking capabilities.
• Strong programming knowledge in:
  • Gosu
  • Java
  • SQL
• Strong understanding of technology trends, continuous improvement, and digital enablement.
• Experience leading both high-level strategy and hands-on technical execution.
• Strong application operations and production-support experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work from the company's physical office location on a hybrid basis.
• Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field.
• Prior insurance industry experience.
• Strong experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter.
• Guidewire Cloud experience.
• Experience with Guidewire BillingCenter configuration.
• Experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments.
• Experience managing application support teams and technology vendors.
• Experience with enterprise application modernization and digital transformation.
