Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Backend & Integration Developer to support the design, development, and testing of backend services within the APEX platform. This role will focus on building scalable FastAPI services, supporting the PostgreSQL data layer, and developing integration pipelines between APEX and enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Archer, and other business-critical applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Python, API development, and backend integrations. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining REST APIs, supporting database architecture and migrations, developing reliable integrations, and ensuring the stability and performance of backend services. This individual will also be responsible for delivering comprehensive test coverage, managing defect resolution, and supporting cloud-based applications throughout the development lifecycle.

This role requires someone who takes ownership of their work from development through production support, including testing, troubleshooting, regression validation, and continuous improvement of the APEX platform.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with Python and FastAPI
• Experience with asynchronous Python development (asyncio)
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Alembic
• Strong REST API design and development experience
• Experience with pytest
• Experience creating API contract tests for internal and external integrations
• Experience building integration test coverage for enterprise systems
• Experience testing database migrations and schema changes
• Experience troubleshooting, resolving, and validating software defects
• Test coverage reporting experience
• Experience with structured logging and application observability
• Experience implementing integration error handling and retry patterns
• Cloud application development and support experience (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across technical teams

BonSoft Skills:

• OpenAPI or Swagger specification experience
• Experience working with document or file processing solutions
• Experience integrating with ServiceNow SPM, APM, or TRM
• Experience integrating with Archer
• Financial services or other regulated industry experience
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Cloud Run
• Exposure to Terraform
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines
• Strong communication and documentation skills
