Urgent need Data Warehouse Architect
Job Title: Data Warehouse Architect (2 architects)
Location: Remote in PST
Any visa - Can do W2 or C2C
Need to be strong on Teradata
Responsibilities
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints related to legacy systems, data feeds and interfaces, and reporting operations.
- Evaluate source systems, integration patterns, storage structures, and downstream reporting dependencies.
- Assess current-state design existing conceptual, logical, and physical data architecture approach used to support analytic objectives.
- Collaborate with project managers, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders from all parties (e.g., T/T vendors, MESMD leaders, EDIM, PSC, and other key DW stakeholders) to validate requirements, business needs, technical M&O activities knowledge transfer, resourcing alignment, risk identification and mitigation, and overall technical perspective on T/T success and transition completion.
- Support development of roadmaps, transition plans, implementation sequencing, and resourcing needs for T/T priorities.
Qualifications
- 10-12+ years of experience operating production-level data warehouse environments (i.e., multiple experiences with different EDWs).
- Hands-on experience working with Teradata and other types of SQL databases.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high-quality delivery.
- Consultative mindset, with ability to teach and lead multi-skilled teams of both technical and functional resources.
Sample Tasks
- Assess the existing data warehouse architecture, including database platforms, schemas, staging layers, ETL dependencies, and reporting environments.
- Develop architecture diagrams, data flow maps, and system interaction views that document current-state design.
- Review dimensional models, fact and dimension structures, and historical data retention patterns for alignment with business and reporting needs.
- Determine needs, gaps, and/or risks with current data warehouse operations and transition considerations in the context of T/T and sustaining service/business continuity.
Future Responsibility and Role Durability Considerations
Beyond T/T, the Data Warehouse Architect provides senior-level technical leadership for the assessment of EDW capabilities supporting program, operational, and reporting needs. This role evaluates the current-state architecture, identifies opportunities for improvement, and defines scalable target-state solutions that improve data integration, performance, governance, and usability. The Architect collaborates with business stakeholders, technical teams, and State leadership to align data management strategy with business objectives, compliance requirements, and future analytics needs.
