JOB TITLE: UX Designer II

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months

LOCATION: 5 days/week in Seattle, WA (



HOURS: 40 hrs/week, no OT, Mon-Fri core hours

PAY RANGE: $45-50

WHAT TEAM IS THIS CONTRACTOR PART OF?

Client is seeking a talented, passionate User Experience Designer to help refine and add to tools that help teams to move into new regions. It's a highly impactful space with partners that value and need design support. Looking for someone to come in, be ready to go & execute the team's vison.

TEAM FOCUS / KEY PROJECTS:

- We need someone to champion customer needs and challenge assumptions grounded in technical or operational limitations.

- We need an advocate that can help partners to think bigger and to push for best experiences, even when facing resistance.

- We don't have a long history of design or user research, so need someone that can fill in gaps and get scrappy to develop an understanding of customers and their needs.

- Moreover, this has been a challenging space to gain alignment across diverse stakeholders.

- Candidates should have experience using research, design jams and workshops, and design artifacts like personas and journey maps to drive a strategy for product CX.

- There is tremendous opportunity in this role for someone not afraid to define next steps, explore ideas, and push teams to make decisions.

WHY IS THIS POSITION OPEN? Need CE support to execute the project

WHAT IS THIS CONTRACTOR SPECIFICALLY DOING?

- Quickly yet thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define business and feature requirements via empirical online data, usability findings, market research, and proven UCD principles.

- Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in usability testing and interpreting analytics data.

- Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and client executives for review and feedback

- Contribute to user interface design and development best practices and standards.

- Provide leadership in the area of ecommerce trends, web application design, and user interface innovations.

MAIN QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 6+ years of industry exp

- Industry experience providing interaction design solutions for web and/or software applications.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.

- Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques

- Must have proficiency with Figma.

- Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver.

- A strong online portfolio demonstrating past work experience and relevant, user-centered design solutions is required.

- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

- Ability to work with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in an agile, fast-paced environment.

- Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash highly desired.

- Self-starter who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player.
