Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python-based server-side development for financial markets systems and a proven ability to deliver complex components that support pricing, risk, and trade lifecycle workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex server-side components using Python.
- Collaborate with front office and risk stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support systems across pre-trade/origination, pricing and risk, and post-trade management workflows.
- Apply Agile and Lean practices, including backlog grooming, iterative delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve production and integration issues independently.
- Communicate status, risks, and design decisions with clear and concise updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of strong Python development for server-side systems. Java experience is a plus.
- Financial Services experience with markets systems in front office derivatives risk, pre-trade/origination, or post-trade management.
- Computer Science or equivalent degree.
- Working knowledge of Agile and Lean software development practices and tooling.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with clear articulation of problems and solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Bank of America Quartz technology stack.
- Pricing and risk knowledge for derivative products, including Greeks and scenario analysis.
- Equity derivatives product knowledge such as futures, options, and convertibles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
