Job Title: GenAI Engineer (Early-career) Internship with opportunity for full-time
Location: McLean, VA
Onsite/Hybrid: 5 Days Onsite
Experience: s or up to 2 years of relevant experience in AI/ML
Internship & conversion details:
- Internship duration: 3 6 months
- Conversion criteria: successful completion of the internship project(s), demonstration of learning aptitude, teamwork, and core technical skills. Candidates who meet performance expectations will be considered for a full-time role.
Overview: We are offering an internship program (with the goal of a full-time offer for successful candidates) for early-career GenAI Engineers. This role is ideal for s or professionals with up to 3 years of experience who are eager to learn and contribute to GenAI and Agentic AI projects. You will work with experienced engineers on building ML models, APIs, and cloud-based data pipelines, while receiving mentorship and hands-on experience.
What you ll do:
- Work with the team to build and test AI/ML models, especially for NLP and conversational AI.
- Help implement and maintain data pipelines and simple real-time APIs.
- Write clean, well-documented Python code and assist in backend development (FastAPI or similar).
- Support model fine-tuning, evaluation, and basic experiments under guidance.
- Help package and deploy models using containers or simple cloud services.
- Learn and follow MLOps practices (versioning, CI/CD basics, Docker).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in design and code reviews.
Who we re looking for (must-haves):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Equivalent.
- s or up to 2 years of relevant experience in AI/ML, software development, or data engineering.
- Good programming skills in Python.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and common NLP tasks.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and basic backend programming.
- Positive learning attitude, good communication, and teamwork skills.
Technical skills (preferred / nice-to-have):
- Practical exposure to PyTorch or TensorFlow (coursework, projects, or internships).
- Familiarity with Hugging Face Transformers or other NLP libraries.
- Basic working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) or willingness to learn.
- Experience with Git, Docker, and simple CI/CD concepts.
- Exposure to SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Any coursework or projects involving LLMs, RAG, LangChain, or conversational systems is a plus.
