We are seeking an experienced Senior SDET / IT Software Engineer to join a dynamic team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in test automation framework development, API testing, performance testing, and Agile methodologies. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java-based automation and the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for CI/CD environments.
Build and enhance API test automation frameworks using Java and related technologies.
Develop and execute automated functional, integration, and regression test suites.
Create scenario-based performance tests using JMeter.
Perform manual and exploratory testing when needed.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams to understand business requirements and resolve issues.
Mentor QA engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
Ensure quality through best testing practices, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
8+ years of experience in test automation framework design and development.
Strong hands-on experience with Java.
Experience with Cucumber, JBehave, or other BDD frameworks.
Strong expertise in REST API/Web Services testing.
Experience creating test scripts, test cases, and test data.
Strong SQL/database querying skills.
3+ years of experience with JMeter for performance testing.
Experience with end-to-end system integration testing and third-party integrations.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Preferred Skills:
Python development experience.
AWS Cloud experience.
Experience with TDD, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, and code review practices.
Knowledge of API gateways such as Apigee.
Understanding of Microservices Architecture.
Experience with load and performance testing.
Strong documentation skills.
