Superintendent - Telecommunications / ConstructionLocation: Barker, NY
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM (with possible Friday overtime)
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations for large-scale commercial telecommunications and construction projects. This role involves supervising crews, ensuring high-quality project execution, maintaining safety standards, and serving as the lead on-site liaison for customer representatives. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, mentor, and develop project staff.
- Oversee performance evaluations, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations as needed.
- Lead operational meetings and training sessions.
- Manage workload distribution, scheduling, and staffing levels.
Project Execution & Customer Interface- Act as the primary on-site point of contact for customer questions and project coordination.
- Ensure project deliverables meet required timelines and customer specifications.
- Conduct daily job walks to assess quality, adherence to design, and progress.
- Prepare red-lined as-built drawings; manage outage prevention efforts.
- Attend construction and facility meetings when required.
Financial & Operational Oversight- Monitor project budgets and overall profitability.
- Review job cost postings, prepare invoices, support collections, and provide financial updates.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation (timesheets, work orders, change orders, transfers, etc.).
- Ensure all job closeout packages meet internal and customer standards.
Process & Continuous Improvement- Evaluate key operational processes (estimating, purchasing, warehousing, scheduling, reporting) for accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement updated procedures.
Technical Responsibilities- Demonstrate strong technical proficiency and resolve issues as they arise.
- Utilize required tools, including:
- Punch tool (110 & 66 block)
- 6/8 position combo crimp tool
- Krone/3M/BIX tools
- Butt set
- Volt-ohmmeter
- 4-pair continuity tester
- 5-gang punch tool
- Manage truck and tool inventory/maintenance.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical/construction field.
- 3+ years as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
- Proven ability to:
- Define project scope
- Develop estimates
- Create task plans
- Lead projects through completion and customer turnover
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to meet company driving standards.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills- Advanced skills with Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Experience managing large commercial or multi-phase construction projects.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
