Job Description:

A Software Engineer with 5 years of experience in bridging IBM iSeries (AS/400) backends with modern web architectures. Skilled in modernizing RPG codebases using Agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. Specializes in exposing high-volume DB2 datasets to web applications, ensuring reliability of legacy systems while enabling faster digital healthcare solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) & RPG:
  • Solid understanding of the IBM iSeries environment, particularly its RPGprogramming language and its integration with DB2 databases.
• Web Development Expertise:
  • Strong experience in modern web technologies(JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, etc.) to develop responsive and user-friendly applications.
• Automation & Continuous Integration:
  • Expertise in setting up CI/CD pipelinesto automate testing, deployment, and versioning of web applications.
• Database Skills:
  • Familiarity with DB2 databasesand modern data integration techniques (e.g., RESTful APIs, microservices) to expose data to modern web applications.
• Agile Methodology:
  • Comfort with Agile development cyclesand tools (JIRA, Scrum, etc.), working within iterative sprints to deliver frequent updates and improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud technologies(AWS, Azure, etc.) and the ability to modernize legacy systems within cloud infrastructures.
• Familiarity with containerizationand orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to streamline development and deployment processes.
