Job#: 3020025 Job Description: Operator, Medical Components (2nd shift)Position SummaryThe Operator for our medical components manufacturing is responsible for performing and supporting the Draw Tower manufacturing process to produce high-quality tubing products. This role ensures safe operations, accurate production monitoring, adherence to standard procedures, and effective communication with peers and supervisors.
Manufacturing Operations- Learns and use all Draw Tower equipment, components, terminology, and functions.
- Monitor standard tubing draws, including:
- Microscope-based product dimension verification
- Reel changes and proper material handling
- Perform cleaning and fire-polishing of standard tubing with supervision.
- Identify equipment or process issues and promptly notify supervisors.
- Complete daily schedule checks and coordinate shift handovers by gathering relevant operational information.
Quality & Safety- Follow all established safety procedures and work safely with chemicals, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain consistent work habits that support high production yields.
Maintenance & Support Duties- Perform basic maintenance tasks (e.g., changing gas cylinders, cleaning coating buckets, completing startup/shutdown checklists).
- Ensure applicators, buckets, and work areas are properly cleaned and ready for the next shift.
Documentation & Communication- Accurately complete all data entry and paperwork related to manufacturing activities.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow.
- Assist coworkers and supervisors as needed.
Other Duties- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
Education & ExperienceRequired- 1-2 years of mechanical, manufacturing, military, or related experience
PreferredSkills & AbilitiesRequired- Ability to use a calculator to determine wall thickness, diameters, and production calculations (with supervision).
- Ability to follow written procedures and recognize when equipment issues require escalation.
- Capability to work effectively in a continuous manufacturing environment.
- Accurate data entry and legible documentation skills.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work with small parts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work from lifts up to 40 feet above ground.
Scope & Working Conditions- Works under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor or Senior Operator.
- Must be able to work safely with chemicals, equipment, and continuous-operation production systems.
