What you will do

\n

Johnson Controls is hiring! The Air Cooled Product Technician has the responsibility to support testing and data retrieval tasks related to technology research, new product development, and continuous sustaining. Assignments will be given as both individual tasks and goals shared across the engineering team.

\n

\n

This position is onsite based at our Advanced Engineering & Development Center in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the office, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available. Candidates must be US Citizens and/or Permanent Resident of the United States. Sponsorship is not available.

How you will do it

    \n
  • \n

    Collaborate with engineers and test lab resources to maximize data collection needed to support on-time project completion.

  • \n
  • \n

    Communicate test plans and resource needs with test lab management according to engineering goals and priority.

  • \n
  • \n

    Reinforce test instructions to test operators, troubleshoot and solve problems found during testing, and relay issues for engineering technical support as needed.

  • \n
  • \n

    Monitor test progress, screen test measurements, and evaluate accuracy and effectiveness of test data collected. Own resolution of data acquisition issues with support of the test lab.

  • \n

    Execution of test setup, instrumentation, modifications, and repairs to minimize down time gaps in test data collection.

  • \n
  • \n

    Coordinate between departments to design, build, and modify components, sub-systems, and chillers for testing purposes.

  • \n
  • \n

    Manage engineering inventory of prototype chillers, spare parts, tools, and instrumentation.

  • \n
  • \n

    Arrange for procurement and fabrication of necessary parts. Identify needed parts and facilitate orders from various appropriate vendors.

  • \n

    Understand, guide, and improve our testing related processes, tools, and systems. Continuously increase expertise in product knowledge, applications, design theory, and strategy.

  • \n

    Generate technical documents to capture status, test procedures, change logs, and best practices for use by other technicians, engineers, and test operators on future test plans.

  • \n
  • \n

    Connect with test engineers through regular 1 on 1 individual meetings as well as participation in product engineering team meetings.

What you will need

  • \n

    3+ years of experience with HVAC products or service related experience.

  • \n
  • \n

    Technical/Associates Degree or equivalent with a mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing focus.

  • \n
  • \n

    Experience with Microsoft Excel or equivalent data analysis tools.

  • \n
  • \n

    Interest in learning fluid, thermal, and refrigeration system principles and how they are applied in commercial equipment.

  • \n
  • \n

    Candidates must be US Citizens and/or Permanent Resident of the United States. Sponsorship is not available.

    Chiller industry experience.

  • \n
  • \n

    Programming experience.

  • \n
  • \n

    Experience with using an MRP system (SAP, MAPICS, or equivalent).

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $65,000 - $85,000 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
