Summary

Primary Function:
As a member of a project team, the University Intern Engineer will perform engineering and design duties, which require application of engineering principles. Assignments are closely supervised and designed to further develop the intern's job knowledge and abilities.


Duties & Responsibilities

As an Intern Engineer, you may be asked to perform any the following functions:
  • Applies sound engineering principals and standards to utility substation or transmission line designs
  • Assures all project deliverables meet the technical requirements of the project
  • Assists in the performance of the quality review of all project documents and make sure all project quality reviews adhere to company QA/QC practices and procedures
  • Assists in the preparation of specifications and material lists
  • Populate project change log throughout the project cycle with adequate out-of-scope descriptions and hours associated with the additional work
  • Populate the project RFI log throughout the project cycle and follow-up on information required within the log
  • Work with Supervising Engineers and Project Managers to make sure projects are completed on schedule and within project budget
  • Assists with performing Project Close-Out and As-Built revisions
  • Visits construction sites with Project Engineer to inspect work in progress or completed, as required by client
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Supervising Engineer or Project Engineer

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a university with a graduation date of August 2026 or after.
  • Currently majoring in Electrical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent major; power focus is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S., currently and in the future, without visa sponsorship.
  • Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field is a plus.
