Job Title: Scrum Master
Onsite Location Placement: Galveston or League City, Texas
Work Schedule (Monday-Friday / 37.50 hours weekly, minimum)
Full-Time, Exempt Status Who You Will Report To: Assistant Vice President, Scrum Delivery Practice
In review of candidate qualifications, another job level may be considered. (Level II through Senior). The Scrum Master leads teams and individuals in adopting agile practices and methods while embedding agile values and attitudes. You will seek to apply agile best practices to produce high-quality, repeatable work, including managing timelines, resolving problems, leading team ceremonies, and coaching team members on agile principles. You will also support an environment for self-organizing and collaborative teams to be fully productive during sprints.
What You'll Do: - Educate teams on agile principles and values; assure teams adhere to an agile framework
- Organize sprint ceremonies including daily standups, story refinement, sprint retrospectives, etc.
- Effectively communicate with others to exchange information
- Lead others through process improvements as a change agent and/or Coach agile/scrum teams to continually improve through retrospectives
- Assist in creating an attitude of self-management and product mindset/ownership on the teams
- Create transparency and collaboration by assisting teams in organizing their work, backlog, and metrics
- Set the precedence for positive team dynamics by facilitating internal team communication, problem solving, and relationship building
- Facilitate, coach teams, and enable enterprise-wide agile transformation
What We Are Looking For: - Experience with IT solution delivery preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as complex problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (kanban, scrum, SaFe)
- Knowledgeable in concepts of continuous integration and test-driven development (TDD)
- Impressive Knowledge of scrum techniques and artifacts such as user stories, backlogs, definition of done, story refinement, unit and regression testing, and cross-team dependencies
- Experience in implementing large-scale custom development and/or systems integration projects in one or more phases of the SDLC
- Demonstrated experience leading kanban or scrum teams and a change management focused approach to enabling agile transformation
- Contribute to the advancement and improvement of agile practices within the organization
- Support the team in using agile planning and development tools (Azure DevOps, Miro)
- Represent the team at broader planning and coordination sessions
- Anticipate client needs and develop potential solutions; adapt quickly to business changes
