Senior MSSQL Database Administrator

8 Months contract Extension

Location: Onsite Plano, TX or McLean, VA

On-site interview second round

Must Have Qualifications:

• Candidate must have 10+ years of experience
• 4-5 years of ex[ Migration from on prem to AWS cloud is must.
• SQL experience
• Code (IaC) tools (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform, cloud formation).
• Schedule: Standard - May require after-hours support for critical incidents or migrations

Job Description:

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced MSSQL Database Administrator with proven expertise in cloud migration projects.
• The ideal candidate will manage, maintain, and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server environments, while also leading or supporting the migration of database workloads to cloud platforms (such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
• This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience with both on-premises and cloud-based database solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience as a MMSSQL Server DBA.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Proven experience in database migrations from on premises to cloud.
• Strong knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with cloud-native database monitoring and management tools.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
