Job Title: Duck Creek Application Developer Lead

Job Overview:
The Duck Creek Application Developer Lead will drive the design, development, and cloud migration of the Duck Creek Policy platform (Express for Commercial and Personal Lines), with full ownership of architecture, customization, integrations, and modernization from on-prem to cloud. This role requires deep Duck Creek expertise, strong cloud-native design experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams (business, QA, DevOps, infrastructure) to deliver a scalable, secure, and successful cloud transition.
Required skills:
- 8+ years insurance tech; 5+ years Duck Creek Policy / Express
- Strong in:
- Product modeling, rating, rules, forms
- Policy lifecycle (NB → Renew)
- Experience with cloud migration (AWS/Azure)
- Strong API/integration, SQL, debugging skills
- Experience with CI/CD, Agile delivery models
Key Responsibilities:
- Define standards, best practices, and upgrade-safe configurations.
- Drive migration strategy (lift-and-shift, refactor, modernization).
- Assess and remediate customizations, integrations, and environments.
- Design and support cloud architecture (Dev/Test/QA/Prod) with DevOps teams.
- Lead hands-on Duck Creek configuration:
- Product setup, rating, rules, and forms
- Policy lifecycle (NB, Endorsement, Renewal, Cancellation)
- Ensure alignment with business requirements and stakeholders.
- Design and build API-based integrations (REST/SOAP).
- Integrate Duck Creek with upstream and downstream systems.
- Ensure secure, scalable, and cloud-compatible integrations.
- Enable CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
- Support test automation (UI and API) and release processes.
- Promote infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native practices.
- Collaborate with QA for regression, performance, and release readiness.
- Drive defect resolution and production stability.
- Lead and work with onshore/offshore teams.
- Collaborate with business, QA, DevOps, and vendors/partners.
- Provide technical governance and code reviews.
