Senior CDN & Edge Delivery Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize Fastly CDN platform operations, including VCL logic, caching strategies, and edge compute features.
• Architect and implement advanced edge delivery solutions to reduce origin load, improve latency, and maximize cache hit rates.
• Collaborate with application teams to optimize delivery performance through caching, compression, and edge-side logic.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles, edge security configurations, and WAF policies.
• Integrate and tune bot protection tools at the edge to prevent malicious traffic.
• Support and maintain NGINX Plus reverse proxy tier with performance tuning and configuration updates.
• Automate CDN and proxy deployments using Python, Ansible, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Design and implement routing solutions across Fastly, NGINX, and Azure networking services.
• Lead incident response and troubleshooting across CDN, proxy, and application layers.
• Write and deliver clear post-incident reports and maintain detailed documentation.
• Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and enhance performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in CDN management, cloud infrastructure, network engineering, or DevOps (focus on content delivery/web traffic).
• Expert-level Fastly CDN skills: VCL, cache optimization, edge compute, performance tuning.
• Strong working knowledge of NGINX/NGINX Plus for reverse proxy and load balancing.
• Experience with bot mitigation platforms (Kasada or similar) a plus.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure networking services (App Gateway, Load Balancers, Autoscaling).
• Proficiency in Python, Ansible, and automation for infrastructure as code/configuration management.
• Experience integrating CDN and traffic management into CI/CD pipelines.
