Important Notes
- 12+ years of overall software engineering, architecture, or platform engineering experience.
- 4+ years of experience as a Solution Architect, Application Architect, or Technical Architect.
- Strong enterprise architecture experience with AEM, React, Node.js, BFF, AWS, Microservices, and SPA.
- Strong experience designing AEM + React/headless/hybrid-headless solutions.
- Accessibility experience is required, including tools such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Axe, WAVE, or Lighthouse.
- Strong AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and API architecture experience.
- Healthcare/insurance experience is preferred.
Job Summary
Centene is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to provide technical and architectural leadership for its Web Chassis platform.
The architect will design scalable and reusable web architecture patterns, establish platform standards, and guide development teams building applications using AEM, React, Node.js, BFF, microservices, and AWS.
The role will work closely with product, engineering, UX, security, DevOps, and enterprise architecture teams to deliver secure, highly available, scalable, and accessible digital applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end architecture for the Web Chassis platform.
- Design reusable and scalable solutions using AEM, React, Node.js, BFF, microservices, and AWS.
- Define AEM architecture including components, templates, content models, DAM, caching, publishing, and integrations.
- Design headless/hybrid AEM solutions integrated with React applications and APIs.
- Define SPA architecture using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, state management, routing, and reusable components.
- Design BFF services using Node.js, with Java/Python as applicable.
- Establish API contracts, service boundaries, integration patterns, security, resiliency, and performance standards.
- Design cloud-native solutions using AWS, Kubernetes/EKS/ECS, Docker, and serverless technologies.
- Establish CI/CD, DevOps, GitHub/GitLab, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment standards.
- Define security and observability practices covering OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
- Conduct architecture/design reviews and guide development teams on technical standards.
- Identify technical risks, performance issues, technical debt, and modernization opportunities.
Must-Have Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering / architecture experience.
- 4+ years in a Solution/Application/Technical Architect role.
- Strong Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) experience.
- Strong React, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript experience.
- Strong BFF and SPA architecture experience.
- Strong Microservices / Distributed Systems / API architecture experience.
- Strong AWS architecture experience.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/ECS, and CI/CD.
- Experience with GitHub/GitLab and DevOps automation.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, authentication, authorization, and API security.
- Accessibility experience with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Axe, WAVE, or Lighthouse.
- Strong architecture documentation, technical leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.

- AEM as a Cloud Service experience.
- Web Chassis or Digital Experience Platform experience.
- Healthcare or insurance industry experience.
- Experience with Kafka / event-driven architecture.
- Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- GitOps with Argo CD or Flux.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of WCAG/ADA.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications into AEM + React + BFF + Microservices.
