Role: Azure Solutions Architect - Enterprise Logical Integrations
Duration Long Term contract
Location: Richmond, VA or Cayce, SC (1 week office/1 week remote)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect specializing in Azure-based enterprise logical integrations to design, govern, and enable scalable, secure, and loosely coupled integration architectures. This role is responsible for defining Azurenative integration patterns that enable APIled connectivity, eventdriven workflows, and cloudnative orchestration across a complex enterprise application landscape.
The ideal candidate brings deep Azure integration expertise, strong architectural judgement with handson integration expertise and acts as a trusted advisor to application teams, product owners, and platform engineering organizations.
This role can be filled in either Richmond, VA or Cayce, SC.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Define and evolve Azure-native logical integration patterns, including APIled, eventdriven, asynchronous messaging, and servicetoservice communication.
- Design loosely coupled, highly scalable integration solutions aligned with cloudnative and hybrid architectures.
- Establish canonical data models, payload standards, versioning strategies, and contractfirst integration approaches.
- Ensure integrations meet enterprise nonfunctional requirements such as security, resiliency, performance, scalability, and observability.
Platform & Technology Enablement
- Architect solutions using Azure integration services, including:
- Azure API Management (APIM) for API publishing, security, throttling, and lifecycle governance
- Azure Event Grid for event routing and reactive architectures
- Azure Service Bus for asynchronous messaging and reliable system decoupling
- Azure Logic Apps for workflow orchestration and integration composition
- Azure Functions for eventdriven, serverless business logic
- Guide teams on selecting the right Azure integration pattern and service based on use case and scale.
- Align logical architecture with Azure landing zones, networking, identity, and security standards.
- Collaborate with platform and cloud teams to align logical integration designs with physical runtime platforms like Azure & OpenShift/Kubernetes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
8+ years of experience in integration architecture, distributed systems, or enterprise solution architecture.
- Strong expertise in APIled and eventdriven architectures.
- Handson experience with Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Event Grid, and Azure Service Bus, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions.
- Deep understanding of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns, idempotency, retries, error handling, and resiliency.
- Experience designing integrations across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Strong communication with the ability to influence architecture decisions across teams.
- Experience with DevSecOps, ADO CI/CD pipelines, and integration testing frameworks.
- Proficiency in one or more languages: C#, Java, Node.js, or Python.
- Experience working within largescale enterprise or regulated environments.
Additional good to have experiences
- Experience with TIBCO integration platforms (e.g., TIBCO BW, EMS) and migration or modernization efforts.
- Knowledge of mainframe integration patterns, including messagebased, filebased, or APIenabled mainframe access.
- Familiarity with domaindriven design (DDD), event modeling, and canonical data strategies.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Discipline(s): Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Azure certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
