Job Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled API Test Engineer to join their team in Charlotte, NC. This is a long-term engagement where you will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for API and end-to-end testing, working closely with development and business stakeholders in a modern CI/CD environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python and frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium (TestNG), or Cypress
Build and maintain CI/CD automation pipelines via GitHub Actions
Craft SQL and NoSQL queries to identify and manage test data
Translate business requirements into testable scenarios and test cases
Perform API testing for REST and SOAP services
Collaborate with developers, managers, and stakeholders to ensure quality delivery

Required Skills

Python scripting for test automation
GitHub Actions and GitHub Copilot
Kotlin (or strong Java background)
SQL and NoSQL database experience — query crafting and test data identification
Playwright, Selenium (TestNG), or Cypress — hands-on framework experience
JavaScript or TypeScript for E2E test development
REST and SOAP API testing
Git and GitHub proficiency
Strong manual and functional testing foundation
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices

Preferred Skills

Domain knowledge in risk and compliance
Mobile testing or database testing expertise
Cloud platform experience
AI tooling experience
