Electrical Designer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Electrical Designer in Austin, TX.

Summary:
This role supports commercial and industrial facilities projects ranging from small renovations to large-scale data centers. Work includes upgrades, modifications, and new installations. The Electrical Designer is expected to open models and begin 3D design immediately, collaborating closely with engineers and BIM teams to deliver clash-free, constructible electrical models.

Responsibilities:
* Develop accurate 3D electrical models in Revit for commercial and industrial facilities projects (bathrooms to data centers)
* Design and model raceway systems, including conduits, cable trays, supports, and Unistrut-based assemblies
* Calculate conduit sizing and routing based on electrical load requirements and design intent
* Interpret and work from single-line and electrical design diagrams provided by engineers
* Coordinate with engineering and multi-discipline teams, reaching out proactively when information is missing
* Support field walks and site walks (locally or with engineering teams) to verify conditions and scope
* Update or create new Revit models based on design changes, redline markups, and as-built field data
* Perform clash resolution using Revizto (or Navisworks), modifying models based on BIM coordination input
* Design in 3D with a strong focus on clash avoidance, constructability, and LOD requirements
* Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment

REQUIREMENTS:
* Revit- must be able to open models and begin production modeling immediately
* Demonstrated ability to create clash-free electrical models using 3D design workflows

Strong background in BIM modeling and electrical detailing, including:
* Raceway conduits
* Cable trays
* Conduit supports and Unistrut fabrication
* Shop drawings and coordination models

Understanding of electrical routing fundamentals, including:
* Conduit bend limitations
* Pull box placement
* Supporting methods for conduits, trays, fittings, and pull/pool boxes

* Experience with clash detection platforms such as Revizto or Navisworks
* Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers who provide design drawings and request modeled layouts

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
