Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java/J2EE Software Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Addison, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role involves working closely with business lines and architects to provide implementation solutions for software applications. The ideal candidate will be involved in all phases of the SDLC, from analysis and design to development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical, large-scale, high-volume enterprise and distributed applications using Java/J2EE. The position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite.
Responsibilities: - Develop, enhance, test, support, maintain, and debug software applications
- Create prototypes to prove design concepts and prepare UML diagrams
- Provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives to recommend innovations
- Lead or take responsibility for estimating software application effort
- Coordinate with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget
- Provide feedback and technical guidance to project managers
Requirements: - Over 8+ years of hands-on experience developing mission-critical, large-scale enterprise applications using Java/J2EE
- Strong understanding of OO design and strong Java programming skills
- Experience with one or more J2EE application servers
- Strong experience developing RESTful Services using Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and SOAP Webservices
- Experience with Apache Kafka for online data publishing and consuming
- Experience with Junit, Performance Testing, Optimization, and Code analysis
- Experience with Relational Oracle SQL/PLSQL and NoSQL Cassandra DB
- Proficiency with development tools like Eclipse/IntelliJ, Maven, GIT, Bit Bucket, CI/CD pipelines, Splunk, and SOAP UI
- Experience with Agile and SDLC development models and test-driven development
- Experience in solving application performance issues (e.g., Memory leak, High CPU usage, Thread lock)
- Ability to develop and deploy Java applications on Linux-based environments
- Experience with build and dependency tools such as Maven or Gradle
Desired skills: - Experience in security best practices for cloud-based applications
- Familiarity with OAuth, JWT, and other authentication/authorization mechanisms
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
