Summary

Role: Digital Marketing Program Manager (AI Search Strategist) – Remote

Location: Fully Remote (U.S. Remote)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (1-hour lunch)
Hours: Up to 30 hours/week initially, increasing to approximately 40 hours/week around November. No OT or weekend expectations.
Duration: 1-year contract with a low possibility of extension based on business needs and performance. No conversion expectation.

About the Role

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Program Manager (AI Search Strategist) to support the execution of our Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy. This individual will play a key role in improving how our brand, products, and expertise are represented across AI-powered search and answer platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and other emerging AI experiences.

Working closely with marketing teams and cross-functional stakeholders, you will translate strategic priorities into actionable recommendations that enhance AI search visibility, optimize digital content, improve citation quality, and strengthen overall brand discoverability. This position is ideal for a data-driven digital marketer who enjoys testing emerging AI search strategies, analyzing performance, and driving measurable business outcomes.

This role will begin at approximately 30 hours per week, with the expectation of increasing to 40 hours per week around November based on business needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze AI search performance, citations, and content gaps, translating findings into prioritized optimization recommendations.
  • Execute Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) initiatives to improve visibility across AI-powered search and answer platforms.
  • Partner with Content Marketing, Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Communications teams to develop AI-friendly content strategies.
  • Optimize digital content using SEO and AI search best practices to improve discoverability and citation quality.
  • Monitor AI search trends, algorithm updates, and emerging best practices, recommending ongoing optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the AEO Project Manager to prioritize initiatives, manage workstreams, and ensure timely execution.
  • Evaluate competitive performance and brand presence across AI search platforms, identifying opportunities to improve authority and visibility.
  • Measure AI search visibility metrics and prepare executive-ready reports, insights, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts through experimentation, testing, and performance analysis.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in SEO, content strategy, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and AI-powered search ecosystems.
  • Experience optimizing digital content for traditional search engines and AI-powered answer platforms using SEO best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience using SEO and analytics platforms such as:
    • Google Search Console
    • Google Analytics
    • Semrush
    • Or similar SEO and analytics tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor''s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Profound or a comparable AI search intelligence platform.
  • Experience measuring AI search citations, visibility, and authority.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI search platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.
