Job Description:

Want to take your engineering skills to the next level by working on complex projects that make a meaningful impact on the community? Parsons is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work 100% remotely within the U.S. Candidates must be located in Washington or Oregon.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Creating feasibility studies and conceptual designs for process plant expansion and modification projects.
  • Evaluating impacts of various design scenarios on existing production and future operability.
  • Integrating customer requirements into the design process for mechanical and ventilation systems.
  • Coordinating interdisciplinary requirements to develop building layouts and utility requirements.
  • Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
  • Prepare standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Review small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assist in performing technical bid analyses.
  • Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience with nuclear material handling, nuclear fuels, air permitting, and NRC requirements preferred.
  • Experience in chemical process design projects, including rotating equipment selection and specification, developing and reading P&IDs, and managing equipment lists.
  • Experience with industrial ventilation design.
  • Knowledge of material handling systems for bulk containers.
  • Experience working on interdisciplinary teams to design modifications to existing chemical process systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
