Sr. Technical Preparation Engineer

Job Description:

Sr. Technical Preparation Engineer positions offered by Volvo Group North America, LLC (Greensboro, North Carolina). Support liaison activities between GTT engineering and the GTO production engineering, ensuring that manufacturing requirements are implemented into new product designs. Review, participate in, ensure production readiness, and coordinate implementation of new designs and changes through the production implementation stages. Ensure compliance with all applicable manufacturing policies and procedures relating to area of responsibility. Responsible for Virtual Manufacturing Simulations (Product Assembly, Ergonomics, Tooling & Equipment, along with Kinematic analysis) to propose improvement of assembly sequences and overall manufacturing processes. Set technical requirements on product, including process-related, and approve technical solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience working in the automotive industry.
Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
Using Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques
Working with technical drawings and conceptualizing manufacturing solutions
Working with CAD tools
Working with productivity improvement tools and methods
Position reports to Greensboro, NC office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.
Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently
We are offering a salary of $113,756 to $126,520 per year.
