Senior Automation Test Engineer – Data Platform

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer to lead the quality strategy for our data platform. This is not a standard QA role—the ideal candidate will design and build automated frameworks for a complex data ecosystem including Databricks, Immuta, and Collibra. You will leverage modern data validation tools to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance across large-scale pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks for a complex data stack.

• Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to define quality standards and testing strategies.

• Develop and maintain automated tests using Python and tools such as Great Expectations, Deequ, or similar.

• Validate data pipelines, transformations, and governance rules in Databricks, Immuta, and Collibra.

• Identify gaps in data quality and implement solutions to prevent issues in production.

• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide guidance on best practices for data testing.

• Ensure adherence to Agile development processes and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software QA, automation testing, or data-intensive automation roles.

• Strong proficiency in Python and test automation frameworks.

• Hands-on experience with data platforms and tools: Databricks, Immuta, Collibra.

• Experience with data validation and testing tools like Great Expectations, Deequ, or similar.

• Solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.

• Familiarity with SQL and relational/NoSQL databases.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
