Senior Controls Engineer – Siemens
Location: Fremont, CA – 100% Onsite
Job Summary:
We are looking for Senior Controls Engineers with strong Siemens automation experience to support line commissioning, debugging, and production release for automated assembly lines. This role is hands-on and focused on commissioning and troubleshooting rather than controls design.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal – Mandatory
- Proficiency in Ladder Logic and Structured Text
- Hands-on commissioning of automated assembly lines, from power-on through production release
- Experience with safety system configuration and validation
- Knowledge of ANSI/RIA 15.06, OSHA, NFPA 79, NEC, and UL 508A
- HMI development and troubleshooting
- Experience with MES and database integration
- Hands-on experience with Cognex or Keyence vision systems
- Ability to read and redline EPLAN schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in production environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission and debug automated production/assembly lines
- Perform power-on, startup, validation, and production release activities
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, safety, vision, and automation issues
- Validate machine safety systems and controls
- Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering teams during line ramp-up
- Support issues through successful production release
