Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Senior QT/QML UI Engineer in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain embedded graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for next-generation patient monitoring and medical device platforms
* Lead the implementation of UI applications using Qt/QML and C++, ensuring high performance, reliability, and usability in real-time embedded environments
* Translate product, clinical, and system requirements into intuitive, responsive UI designs that support safe and effective user interaction
* Apply strong computer graphics fundamentals to deliver smooth rendering, animations, and efficient visual performance
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including systems, hardware, UX, verification, and clinical stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle
* Participate in and lead peer design reviews and code reviews to ensure adherence to architecture, coding standards, and best practices
* Develop and maintain software specifications, technical documentation, and design artifacts
* Implement and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing to verify UI functionality, performance, and robustness
* Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex UI and system-level issues in embedded operating environments
* Support software configuration management activities using tools such as Git and Jira
* Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and UI frameworks
* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on Qt/QML, C++, and embedded UI development best practices

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
* Strong experience developing embedded GUI applications using C++
* Demonstrated experience with graphical user interface (GUI) design and development, preferably in embedded or regulated environments
* Solid understanding of computer graphics fundamentals, including rendering pipelines and performance consideration
* Strong knowledge of operating system concepts such as multi-threading, scheduling, and memory management
* Experience with software configuration and issue tracking tools (e.g., Git, Jira)
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment
* Strong verbal and written communication skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
