About the Team
At Nutanix, you will be a part of the Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) team, a group dispersed across the US and APAC regions. AHV is an enterprise-grade hypervisor powering the core Nutanix Cloud infrastructure. The culture is collaborative and proactive, where open communication and teamwork are highly valued. The mission of the team is to ensure the seamless operation of AHV software stack that can effectively support Nutanix's broader technology objectives and deliver exceptional value to our customers.
You will report to the Sr Engineering Manager of the AHV team, who encourages a collaborative and communicative work environment. The manager focuses on aligning team goals with individual career aspirations and emphasizes prompt responses and engagement from all team members.
This role does not require any travel, allowing the new hire to focus on their work in the local office setting without the need for travel commitments.

Your Role

• Contribute to the development of Nutanix's Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV)
• Assist with designing and developing new AHV features
• Maintain and fix issues in the existing AHV codes and features
• Push for improved reliability, performance, and security of AHV
• Interact with open source communities
• Utilize C/Golang/Rust and Python programming languages for development

What You Will Bring

• 1+ years of experience with a BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/Golang/Rust, and Python programming languages
• knowledge of OS internals, particularly UNIX/Linux
• Familiarity with x86 architecture, virtualization, storage, and network management
• Experience developing software for Unix/Linux/BSD operating systems at the kernel level
• Good understanding of multi-threading, algorithms, and data structures on Linux
• Strong debugging skills in Linux kernel mode
• Device driver development experience in Unix/Linux/BSD environments

The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 110,000 and USD $ 218,000 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
