What will you be doing?
Lead Regional Field Technician reporting into our branch services practice capable of performing onsite smart hands capabilities on behalf of WWT at various customer locations and oversee the work for partner resources and subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
Perform as the onsite lead & liaison for partner resources and subcontractors
Analyze, interpret, and ensure all supporting documentation needed to stage devices according to predefined specifications
Develop documentation to be utilized by field technicians for site surveys and/or onsite installation activities
Interview, schedule, manage and coordinate field technicians for multiple ongoing projects to include on site work and deliverable (as-built) processing
Coordinate with the Project Management team in the execution of onsite activities
Train field technicians on expectations, quality control and site work.
Perform Dead on Arrival / Green Light testing
Post installation Quality Assurance
Integrate various infrastructure components based on the provided slotting matrix/cabling diagrams
OS Upgrades
Console Management access to enable remote engineering
Cabling installation included but not limited to: pulling cable, securing cable, splicing cable, running conduit, etc.
Physical device placement including unboxing, racking, mounting network equipment
Qualifications:
Ability to adapt, make decisions and collaborate is very important
Knowledge of network cabling, optic types
Knowledge of infrastructure technologies
Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, etc.) and common Networking Protocols
Knowledge of updating the OS for Cisco, Juniper and other networking gear.
Some experience in network implementations and support
Familiar with network heat maps and software inclusive of Ekahau
Related degree in computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent experience
BICSI Installer or equivalent knowledge
CCENT or equivalent knowledge
Network + or equivalent knowledge
A+ or equivalent
Datacenter experience
A minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in a related field
Some experience in network implementations and support
Experience communicating with peers or customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
Experience with small or medium to large, complex project scopes and ambiguous details within work environment
Ability to prioritize and use time management practices
Ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs
Ability to use judgement and analytical skills
Up to 75% travel regionally
