Job SummaryThe Staff UX Designer is a high-leverage individual contributor including new business opportunities. The role focuses on translating future-state intent into actionable experience patterns, prototypes, and pilot-ready designs.

This is not a visual or creative production role. It is a strategic, systems-minded product and UX role focused on innovation that can be adopted and scaled. The role works in close partnership with Experience Design (XD), Adoption Experience (AX), Trade Experience Realization (TxR).
Contract duration: 6 months
Principal Duties and Responsibilities1. Innovation and Pattern Extraction- Translate findings into reusable experience patterns.
- Identify where current experiences limit performance, compliance, or adoption and propose feasible step-change alternatives.
2. Future-State Experience Design (Grounded, Not Theoretical)- Create future-state journeys, service blueprints, and interaction models that enable competitive advantage through digital experience.
- Maintain a pragmatic link between future vision and near-term pilots, avoiding "deck-only" innovation.
3. Prototyping and Pilot Enablement- Build low- to high-fidelity prototypes to validate concepts quickly with users and stakeholders.
- Produce pilot-ready artifacts that can transition into TxR delivery with XD standards applied.
4. Cross-Disciplinary Alignment and Storytelling- Facilitate clarity sessions with business partners and cross-functional teams to align on outcomes, hypotheses, and tradeoffs.
- Translate complex problems into simple, decision-ready narratives for leadership and delivery teams.
5. Standards Alignment with XD and Adoption Readiness with AX- Align innovation work to XD design systems and reusable component patterns, even in prototype form.
- Engage AX early to ensure concepts are positioned for confidence, readiness, and adoption from day one.
Job RequirementsEducation- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Psychology, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience- 8 to 12+ years of experience in UX or product design, including ownership of complex workflows and cross-functional influence.
- Demonstrated experience translating ambiguous problems into clear experience intent, prototypes, and pilot-ready designs.
- Experience operating in enterprise or regulated environments, or similarly constrained domains, is preferred.
Required Skills (Must-Haves)- Strategic UX and product thinking, including strong problem framing, hypothesis definition, and connection to business outcomes.
- Workflow and decision experience design, with deep skill designing task- and role-based workflows that reduce friction and cognitive load.
- Rapid prototyping with expert ability to iterate quickly and validate concepts.
- Systems mindset with the ability to create reusable patterns and avoid one-off designs, including understanding of design systems and component reuse.
- Cross-functional influence, including leading working and design-thinking sessions and driving decisions without formal authority.
- Expert Figma proficiency for prototyping and collaboration.
- Strong documentation discipline, including documenting intent and decisions in tools such as Confluence and coordinating work in agile tooling such as Jira.
- Clear, executive-ready communication and storytelling, including presenting options, tradeoffs, and recommendations succinctly.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves)- Experience with Salesforce or field enablement systems.
- Familiarity with research practices and partnering with UX Research (UXR).
- Exposure to AEP, DAM, Workfront, or related experience ecosystems.
Physical Requirements- N/A (standard office or remote work)
What Success Looks Like After 6 Months- Solutioning that produces a small set of reusable innovation patterns and prototypes aligned to real delivery constraints.
- One to two concepts are matured to pilot-ready status with clear outcomes, assumptions, and measurement approaches.
- Decision-makers report increased clarity and reduced risk due, making business direction, tradeoffs, and assumptions explicit.
- DI work transitions cleanly into delivery using XD standards, with AX engaged early for adoption readiness.
- Stakeholders view Digital Innovation as an accelerant to outcomes, not a distraction from delivery.
