About the Role

We are seeking a tech-savvy Desktop Support Technician to join our Teaching & Learning Services team. In this role, you will support faculty and staff in effectively utilizing educational technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital learning tools, and instructional platforms.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, delivering training, creating support resources, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders in a higher education environment. You'll serve as a key resource for faculty by helping them leverage technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary support contact for faculty and staff using instructional technologies.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to educational technology platforms, including Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Manage and resolve support tickets while providing excellent customer service.
  • Develop and deliver professional development training sessions in both virtual and in-person formats.
  • Create instructional materials, including training videos, knowledge base articles, user guides, and web content.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology Services (ITS) and campus departments to support technology initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain and improve instructional technology tools and services, ensuring accessibility and user-friendly experiences.
  • Stay current on accessibility standards and regulations, incorporating best practices into training and support resources.
  • Update and maintain WordPress website content and perform minor website edits.
  • Design promotional and informational materials using Adobe Creative Suite products.
  • Assist with project execution, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to a wide range of university stakeholders.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities while managing multiple projects and support requests.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience using content creation and editing tools, including Microsoft Word and related applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience supporting Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or similar platforms).
  • Experience in higher education or supporting faculty and academic technology.
  • Experience creating and delivering training or professional development programs.
  • Experience with project management tools and coordinating project deliverables.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive learning practices.
  • Experience with WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite.
