Job Title: Technical Writer (Onsite)

Location: San Jose, CA [Onsite] relocation yes

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

Responsibilities-

• Create /Modify a topic for a feature that currently lacks documentation or needs upgrade.
• Usually one topic at a time (i.e. one project == one topic, maybe two)
• Work with SMEs and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information, verify technical accuracy, topic quality, and so on.
• Analyze content for an existing area and suggest improvements
• Assess quality, usefulness, etc.
• Suggest meaningful improvements beyond copy edit

Skills and experience-

• 8 – 10 years of relevant experience
• BS / MS / MBA in computer science / engineering / business management or relevant education
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipeline and experience in version control
• Core developer technical writing competency

• Knowledge of developer workflows, proven experience working in an environment with APIs and software development tools
• Familiarity with contributing content in a shared environment with source control
• Familiarity with Markdown
• Familiarity with HTML/XHTML/CSS

• Basic ability to read and understand small snippets of code
• Google experience in documentation

Nice to have - not required

• Android/Chrome understanding, ideally documenting Android code or APIs
• Programming experience (JavaScript)
• Git experience
